Data Engineer

Job Summary

The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure to support real-time analytics, robotics telemetry, and AI model training. This role is key to ensuring high data availability, integrity, and performance for subsea IRM operations. The ideal candidate is skilled in managing data pipelines that interface with both hardware systems and cloud platforms.

Duties and Responsibility

• Build and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, and store data from robotic systems and sensors.
• Design data architecture to support real-time and historical data analysis.
• Implement ETL processes and ensure data quality, validation, and monitoring.
• Optimize database performance and manage large-scale data storage (structured and unstructured).
• Collaborate with AI, robotics, and software teams to align data workflows with operational needs.
• Maintain data documentation and ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
• Demonstrate a commitment to improve and comply with SSHE policy, environment regulations as well as labor law.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Understanding about metadata and data governance
• Familiar with a variety of software patterns and principles
• Understanding of big data architecture and streaming analytics
• Has a good understanding of software engineering principles
• Experience designing software applications running on multiple platform types
• Experience in evaluating machine learning applications
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
