Job Summary

The People Services Officer is expected to be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll and people services operations, including payroll processing, statutory compliance, employee benefits administration, HRIS data maintenance, reporting, and employee support.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Collect, verify, and maintain payroll-related data, including salary, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions such as absence, leave, and lateness.
  • Review and manage employee attendance and timekeeping records in the relevant systems.
  • Process and prepare employee payroll accurately, correctly, and within established timelines.
  • Prepare and submit withholding tax and social security contributions accurately and on time in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate and administer employee benefits and related payments, including provident fund, group health insurance, reimbursements, and other benefit items.
  • Keep abreast of labor laws, personal income tax regulations, and social security requirements to ensure payroll practices remain compliant and up to date.
  • Maintain and update employee data in HRIS/HR systems, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Prepare payroll summaries, personnel cost reports, and other related reports for Finance and management.
  • Provide timely, friendly, and accurate support and guidance to employees regarding payroll, tax, leave, and compensation-related inquiries.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with SHE policies, environmental regulations, and labor laws.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in Payroll Operations, Compensation & Benefits (C&B), HR Operations, or Shared Services.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, IF, and XLOOKUP functions for managing large datasets.
  • Experience using HR software or HRM/HRIS systems, such as SAP, Humanica, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Good understanding of labor laws, personal income tax regulations, and social security requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work confidently with numbers and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters such as tax or compensation structures in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time to meet deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented and results-driven mindset, with the ability to ask questions when clarification is needed and continuously learn and develop.
